In the international basketball tournament in the 3х3 format that was held in the city of Eindhoven (Holland), the national female team of Turkmenistan won gold medals, and the male team - silver. On the way towards the final and the highest award, the Turkmen female team deactivated five teams of different countries. In the decisive duel, the winners met with the host team - «Pendragodinnen» Club, and won 15:10 victory. In the preliminary competitions of the male group, our basketball players won victories in the four duels that helped them reach the final. There, the team from Turkmenistan played with the «Squad Streetball» German Club team which, having defeated the opponents with the score 20:15, became the holder of gold medals. The 3х3 basketball format is included into the program of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. Therefore, the tournament in Holland for our sportsmen is an important stage of preparations. In November, the basketball field of the forthcoming Asian Games -2017 in Ashgabat hosted the competitions which brought together the leading teams from Russia, Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, and other countries. Here, the host male and female national teams took the highest step at the pedestal of honour. The next year’s spring, Ashgabat will host the championship of Turkmenistan and the Turkmenistan Cup. By results of the competitions, the final line-up of the national team for participation in the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games will be determined.
