A modern park called “Erkin” was opened Today in the northern part of the Turkmen capital. The project, implemented as a result of the urban development program of Ashgabat, launched under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, became a wonderful gift to its residents in the year of the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Motherland and the 140th anniversary of the main city of the state.
Heads of ministries and sectoral departments, the hyakim of Ashgabat, representatives of public organizations, honorary elders and youth took part in the celebration on the occasion of the opening of the park.
During the ceremony, the speakers noted that the current significant event is another vivid example of the implementation of a socially oriented state course, pursued by the leader of Turkmenistan's progressive policy, the essence of which is expressed in the principle “The state is for the person!”. Caring for the people, well-being and health of every family is a priority of the fundamental reforms and transformative programs being implemented in Turkmenistan.
Only in this anniversary year, along with the opening of large industrial and infrastructure facilities, residential buildings, the white marble capital has grown with new green corners, where conditions have been created for recreation and cultural pastime of Ashgabat residents and guests of our city. So, in September, Laçyn square was opened in the immediate vicinity of the place of the current celebration.
The right to cut the festive ribbon is traditionally granted to the most respected people - honorary elders and gray-haired mothers.
“Erkin” Park is located in Bagtyyarlyk etrap, on the section between A. Niyazov Avenue and Amudarya Street, as well as Khoja Akhmet Yasavi and B. Khudaynazarov Streets. The total area of the new park zone is 16, 97 hectares. In the central part there is a 22-meter flagpole, on which the Green Banner of our independent Motherland flutters.
There are seating areas, original lighting lanterns, pedestrian and bicycle paths. A cycling track is also laid around the park area, and on both sides of the large parking lot there are parking spaces for bicycles.
The green area is decorated with bright elements of landscape design. More than 7 thousand plants have been planted along the entire perimeter of the park, including juniper, deciduous and coniferous trees; flower beds and floristic compositions are laid out, creating a favorable microclimate and having an aesthetic impact on visitors. Two compressor stations and water tanks will ensure timely watering of green spaces.
Walking through the park, the ceremony participants watched the performances of the Ýaşlyk accordionists, the Altyn serpaý violin ensemble, the Joşgun and Aýjan children's choir and dance groups, and popular singers. The festive atmosphere was complemented by the performances of the Şowhun circus group and young athletes from the children's sports school.
Exhibitions of drawings by children's art schools were held in different park zones. Visitors watched with interest the work of art school students depicting the beautiful Turkmen capital.
In the main city of the country, parks and squares serve as a wonderful frame for architectural white marble ensembles. The new park, located in close proximity to the building of the Garagum hotel, which is original in its architectural embodiment, is no exception, making it a favorite recreation place for both residents and guests of the Turkmen capital.
