Turkmenistan to perform the duties of UNECE Vice-Chair

Representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan took part in the 69th session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, held in Geneva in a hybrid format.

Within the framework of the meeting, the elections to the Economic Commission for Europe took place. Austria will chair the UN Economic Commission for Europe for the next two years (2021-2023). Turkmenistan and Switzerland were elected as UNECE Vice-Chairs.

 Addressing meeting participants on behalf of the Turkmen delegation Ambassador, representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva (Swiss Confederation) Atageldy Haljanov noted that our country, committed to the principles of neutrality and broad international cooperation, would take an active part in the work of the Economic Commission for Europe as UNECE Vice-Chair.
