Nowadays, in the Bulgarian city Plovdiv, World Taekwondo Championship (ITF version) is being held, and our national team has already won its first bronze medal there. The success was achieved by Myahri Agayeva in the «individual taolu» (complex exercises) discipline. Over a thousand of masters of Korean martial art from over 80 countries take part in the world championship. In addition to competitions in taolu, master of sports, holder of black belt (1st Dann) Myahri Agayeva will have to fight for medals in the individual sparring (under 51 kg) and scenic self-defence. The performance of another Turkmen sportsman, the holder of black belt (2nd Dann), Annamyrat Goshaniyazov, was victorious. In his initial fight (under 57 kg) he won a confident victory over a taekwondo practitioner from Argentina. Moreover, Annamyrat will also take part in taolu and scenic self- defence competitions.
