Sport Dancing Championship of Turkmenistan was held in the capital’s “Galkynysh” Sport Complex. It hosted nearly 100 participants of three age groups – children’s, junior and adult. Besides standard program, which included the contests on 10 kinds of European and Latin American dances, there also was a Cup of “Cha-cha-cha”. In single competitions (solo), only girls competed for medals. Here, the representatives of team of Ashgabat Sofia Melkumova, Robiya Allayarova and Anastasia Mikhailova won a victory in several disciplines. Pair competitions, where a bulk of medals were gained by capital’s masters of sport dancing, were of particular interest for spectators, who filled the stands of sport complex. In the contests among adults, “gold” was gained by Alexander Sisekin and Varvara Pivovarova. The second place in group of masters belonged to duet Arslan Atayev-Anastasia Yuzhakova. Pair Timur Yalkabov-Darya Gokova raised the third stage of podium. Silver prizewinners of classical competitions – A. Atayev and A. Yuzhakova won the main prize in the Cup of “Cha-cha-cha”. T. Yalkabov and D. Gokova won silver awards, and Nikita Svyatelik and Valeria Nepomnyashaya became the bronze prizewinners. In the youngest age group in pair class, the victory was gained by duet Vladimir Paraskunov-Milana Sultanbekova. Pair Ahmet Ibragimov-Olga Drykina were beyond comparison in junior group of participants. At present, Sport Dancing Federation of Turkmenistan founded at the end of last year carries out a work on entry into International Sport Dancing Federation. It will open before Turkmen sportsmen a way for professional contests of world level, including world championships.
