The capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, welcomed the Turkmenistan National Team that arrived to participate in the 18th Asian Summer Games.

Representatives of sport delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the opening ceremony of XVIII Summer Asian Games. It was held at eh Bung Carno Stadium of Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.

A conference hall of the National Sport and Tourism Institute has hosted an official send-off ceremony for the Turkmen national team heading to the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, to participate in the 18th Asian Games (August 18 - September 2).

Turkmen masters of jujitsu have won almost twenty medals of Asian Championship held in Aktau (the Republic of Kazakhstan). Around 400 sportsmen from 20 countries took part in the tournament.

Turkmen sportsmen won two medals at the Open Asian Judo Tournament that has just finished in Chinese Taipei. Around two hundred sportsmen from 23 countries representing practically all regional confederations took part in the competitions.

Four medals, including three gold, were added to our national team’s count on the second day of the Asian Sambo and Combat Sambo Championship that is being held in the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. 13 athletes represent our country at the championship.
