President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held the session of the Cabinet of Ministers where actual issues of internal and foreign policy of the state were discussed.

One of the major and integral components of successful organization of «Ashgabat- 2017, such any big sports action like this mass event, is qualified medical service. At the extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers which took place on September 22, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave particular attention to this issue in aspect of quality of organisation of the Games, having charged to adjust round-the-clock duty of doctors in the Rehabilitation centre of the Olympic village.

President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in has sent the head of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov a congratulatory letter on the occasion of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat. Having noted that 100 athletes from his country are participating in 7 sports at the Games, the South Korean leader expressed confidence that all the athletes will be competing in the spirit of fair play across 10 days and that the Games will end successfully.

During opening ceremony of V Asian Games, the pages of glorious history of Turkmen nation were demonstrated in creative artistic way. We continue historical story line of grandiose performance in the Olympic stadium.

Today, competitions continued in 13 sports at the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat. The day saw the Turkmen team win 21 medals (including 6 gold medals) in belt wrestling, kurash, show-jumping, Thai boxing (Muay Thai), and weightlifting events.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has sent his sincere condolences to President of the United Mexican States Enrique Peña Nieto on the numerous human losses, injuries and massive destruction, caused by the devastating earthquake in the country.

Turkmenistan fighter Jennet Aynazarova (57 kg) won the gold in the final day of Thai Boxing competitions having won Sirosipa Sirisak from Thailand, the origin place of this sport, by technical knockout.

Show jumping competitions that started on September 19 had Ahalteke Cup contest today. Our compatriot Nikolai Beglaryan on Toychy horse came over the obstacles without any mistakes and won gold medal.

Turkmen team continues the fight for awards at the V Asian indoor and martial arts games. This day also pleased with successful performances and regular medals, won by our athletes. Performances in competitions on wrestling on belts, Thai boxing, billiards, track and field athletics, wrestling “kurash” brought places on the pedestal of honor to the Turkmen.

We will remember for a long time the opening ceremony of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. It lasted for around three and half hour but seemed to be like magic minutes. The heads of the states, leaders of official delegations, numerous guests, representatives of foreign mass media, everyone were ravished with grandiose show made by thousands of performers.
