On 4 September 2026, a telephone conversation was held between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
The interlocutors warmly greeted each other and expressed satisfaction at the opportunity to discuss priority areas of interstate relations.
Noting that Armenia highly appraises the achievements of Turkmenistan and attaches great importance to further developing cooperation on the basis of friendship and equality, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took the opportunity to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag.
It was emphasized that Turkmenistan and the Republic of Armenia successfully cooperate not only bilaterally, but also within the framework of international organizations.
The Prime Minister of Armenia highlighted the important role of Turkmenistan’s international initiatives aimed at ensuring global environmental well-being and invited President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to participate in the Leaders’ Summit, which will be held in Yerevan in October this year ahead of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17).
Expressing gratitude for the invitation, the Head of State emphasized that the event would serve as an important occasion in the field of environmental protection and confirmed Turkmenistan’s active participation in it.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also noted that, within the framework of Turkmenistan’s chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States this year, the Summit of the Heads of State of the CIS will be held on 9 October in the National Tourism Zone “Avaza”, and took the opportunity to once again invite Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to participate in the Summit.
During the telephone conversation, the sides also exchanged views on current issues concerning the development of Turkmen-Armenian relations. In this context, the importance of further expanding bilateral cooperation in various areas was emphasized.
At the conclusion of the telephone conversation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed confidence that relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Armenia would continue to develop consistently for the benefit of the two countries. They wished each other good health, well-being and great success in their responsible state activities, and prosperity to the friendly peoples of the two countries.
