On July 29, 2026, on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Speaker of the Majlis D. Gulmanova accepted the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to Turkmenistan, Boumediene Guennad.

On behalf of the head of state, the speaker of the national parliament congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to this important post, wishing him success in strengthening interstate relations.

Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome in Turkmenistan, the Ambassador conveyed warm greetings from the President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as best wishes to the people of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the plenipotentiary representative of the friendly country was briefed on the structure of the national parliament, the measures being taken to comprehensively improve our country's legislative framework, and the main directions of its domestic and foreign policies.

It was noted that, under the visionary leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, independent, neutral Turkmenistan is successfully implementing constructive initiatives aimed at expanding international cooperation and strengthening global peace and stability. In this context, our country's interest in increasing cooperation with countries around the world, including those on the African continent, was emphasized.

During the discussion of this topic, a lively exchange of views took place on the prospects for strengthening friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Algeria.
