President of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan

On May 22, 2026, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the regular meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government.

Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, the guest noted that each of his visits to Ashgabat enables him to see personally the results of large-scale reforms in the country and the effectiveness of the far-sighted policies implemented under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda conveyed to the head of state and National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero Arkadag, warm greetings and best wishes from the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The guest also emphasized that the foreign policy of Turkmenistan, based on the principles of permanent neutrality, contributes to ensuring sustainable development in the region. In this regard, the importance of holding the next meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council in Ashgabat was noted.

Having conveyed his best wishes to President Emomali Rahmon, the head of state thanked the Prime Minister for accepting the invitation to visit Turkmenistan, highlighting that his participation in the current meeting demonstrates the commitment of the Republic of Tajikistan to further strengthening of multilateral cooperation within the CIS.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also expressed his firm confidence that the decisions taken at the meeting will help to strengthen cooperation between the CIS Member States, and that the current visit will contribute to deepening friendly ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tajikistan.

During the conversation, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of further expanding bilateral relations based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and trust.

It was noted that the two countries actively cooperate within reputable international organizations such as the UN, ECO, and the CIS.

The President of Turkmenistan placed particular emphasis on bilateral trade and economic cooperation. The electric power, transport, agriculture, and trade are identified as the promising areas of collaboration. The importance of joint implementation of major infrastructural and investment projects was emphasized.

The parties emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.

At the meeting, the commitment of Turkmenistan to consistently strengthen the mutually beneficial cooperation and promoting its advancement to a new level for the benefit of two peoples was reaffirmed.

At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda exchanged best wishes, reaffirming the commitment of two countries to further strengthening relations based on the principles of friendship and brotherhood.
