On 10 February 2026, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye Omer Bolat, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a visit.

Expressing gratitude for the time allocated for the meeting, the Minister noted the high level of dynamically developing cooperation between the two countries in various areas. Taking the opportunity, he conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the Head of the Turkmen state, as well as to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, from the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Highlighting the important role of Turkmenistan’s neutral status in strengthening peace in the region, Omer Bolat emphasized that the participation of the President of Türkiye in the representative Forum held in Ashgabat last December, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, contributed to elevating political and diplomatic relations between the two countries to a new level.

Warmly welcoming the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, the Head of State conveyed his best wishes in return to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and wished success to the Exhibition of Export Goods of the Republic of Türkiye being held in Ashgabat.

Noting that the Republic of Türkiye is one of the closest fraternal states for Turkmenistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized with satisfaction that interstate relations are long-term and strategic in nature.

During the meeting, it was stated that regular mutual visits and negotiations of government delegations of the two countries make a significant contribution to strengthening traditional Turkmen-Turkish cooperation.

Pointing out the positive dynamics in the development of trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye, the Head of State underlined that Turkmenistan pays special attention to the introduction of new technologies and the latest scientific achievements in various sectors, as well as to the consistent modernization of the national economy.

As noted, for many years the Republic of Türkiye has held leading positions in Turkmenistan’s foreign trade turnover. A clear example of this is the annual growth in the volume of mutual trade.

Exhibitions organized on a bilateral basis serve as an important instrument for developing effective trade and economic relations. As is known, from 2 to 5 July last year, the Exhibition of Export Goods of Turkmenistan was successfully held in Istanbul.

The guest expressed gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the support provided in organizing the Exhibition of Export Goods of the Republic of Türkiye in Ashgabat at a high level.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye Omer Bolat expressed confidence in the further strengthening of bilateral economic relations and exchanged best wishes.
