Today, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, welcomed the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian at the International Airport of the capital.

According to the established tradition of hospitality, the distinguished Iranian guest was presented with bread and salt, as well as flowers.

A meeting between Hero-Arkadag and the head of the friendly state then took place at the airport.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people thanked the President of Iran for accepting the invitation to participate in the International Forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation, the head of the neighboring state noted that it was a great honor for him to take part in the upcoming representative Forum in Ashgabat, emphasizing its significance.

It was noted that Turkmenistan’s peace-loving foreign policy, widely supported by the international community, is based on its legal status of permanent neutrality. This unique doctrine, serving as a foundation for ensuring peaceful coexistence, security, and sustainable development in the region, has proven its effectiveness as a tool that has allowed Turkmenistan, to act as a reliable partner and an active member of the global community for 30 years. The importance of this legal status at the regional level is evidenced by its repeated recognition by the Community of Nations.

During the exchange of views on the current state and prospects of Turkmen–Iranian relations, Hero-Arkadag and the distinguished guest expressed confidence that the established multifaceted cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran would continue to develop successfully on the basis of mutual respect and with consideration of shared interests.
