On November 18, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Turkmenistan, Nasser bin Ahmed Al Taher, who presented his credentials to the Head of state.

Expressing gratitude for the time devoted to the meeting, the diplomat emphasized that Qatar highly values its friendly relations with Turkmenistan. Taking the opportunity, the Ambassador conveyed warm greetings to President Berdimuhamedov and Hero Arkadag on behalf of the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The diplomat also sincerely congratulated the Head of Turkmenistan on being awarded the highest state award of the Republic of Uzbekistan – the "Oliý Darajali Dustlik" Order.

Thanking for the kind words, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Nasser bin Ahmed Al Taher on his appointment to the high diplomatic post and wished him success in his work to further develop fruitful Turkmen-Qatari relations.

Conveying his best wishes to Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening and expanding multifaceted cooperation with the State of Qatar. Mutual high-level visits contribute to the advancement of a productive partnership.

Praising the success of interstate cooperation within international organizations, President Berdimuhamedov noted that the Qatari side is among the first to support Turkmenistan's initiatives at the UN, expressing sincere gratitude for this.

Promising areas of cooperation included fuel and energy, trade, investment, transport and communications, the chemical industry, textile and agricultural sectors, healthcare, and high technology. Emphasis was placed on the need to intensify the work of the joint Turkmen-Qatari Intergovernmental Commission.

The Head of state also noted the significant opportunities for cooperation in the cultural-humanitarian sphere.

Concluding the meeting, once again expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Turkmenistan Nasser bin Ahmed Al Taher assured that he would make every effort to further strengthen the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries.
