On September 30, 2025, on instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Chairwoman of the Mejlis, D.Gulmanova, accepted the credentials of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland to Turkmenistan, Ms. Claire Brosnan.
On behalf of the Head of state, the head of the national Parliament congratulated the diplomat on her appointment to this responsible post and wished her success in further strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.
Expressing her gratitude for the kind words, the Ambassador conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the President of Turkmenistan from the Irish leadership.
Ambassador Brosnan was briefed on the structure of the national Parliament and the work on the comprehensive modernization of the country's legislation, as well as the main directions of its domestic and foreign policy. In this context, it was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the comprehensive development of mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign countries, including the states of the European Union.
During the exchange of views on key areas of cooperation, Turkmenistan and Ireland confirmed their interest in strengthening fruitful ties in a bilateral format, as well as within the framework of the consistently developing relations between our country and the European Union, through authoritative international organizations.
Expressing her gratitude for the warm welcome, Clare Brosnan emphasized that it is a great honor for her to represent her country in Turkmenistan, which is widely known for its peaceful policy, and confirmed her readiness to make every effort to develop productive Irish-Turkmen dialogue in various fields.
