On August 4, 2025, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

The leader of the friendly country thanked the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the warm welcome.

Having welcomed the distinguished guest, the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted that he was glad to see the President of Uzbekistan on the sacred Turkmen land.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation to take part in the work of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, covering issues of global importance, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that it is a great honor for him to become a participant in the International Forum held in Avaza.

As noted, there is a coordinated development of interstate relations, a constant growth in the volume of mutual trade turnover, which indicates that good-neighborly relations have reached a qualitatively new level. In this context, the importance of further interaction within the framework of authoritative international organizations was emphasized.

Having exchanged best wishes, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan expressed confidence in expanding cooperation between the two countries and peoples. Particular emphasis was placed on the historical significance of the Conference, the results of which will contribute to the development of the economies of the participating countries.
