Today, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev and the khyakims of the velayats to consider issues related to the country’s agricultural sector and the work carried out in the regions.

The first to speak was the khyakim of the Ahal velayat T. Nurmyradov, who reported on the dynamics of the current seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region.

As noted, all necessary measures have been taken in the velayat for an organized start to the grain harvest and harvesting the grown crop without losses.

Inter-row cultivation, mineral fertilization and irrigation are carried out in the cotton fields, while agricultural machinery is used at full capacity. In order to further strengthen the country’s food security, efforts are being made to care for potatoes and other vegetable and melon crops in accordance with agro-technical standards and to harvest the crops.

In addition, it was reported that preparations are underway to hold cultural, mass and sports events in the region dedicated to the International Children’s Day and World Bicycle Day, as well as the summer holiday season for children.

After hearing the report and noting the importance of strict adherence to agro-technical standards in agricultural work, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave the head of the regional administration specific instructions on this matter.

Then, the khyakim of the Balkan velayat H. Ashyrmyradov reported on the progress of seasonal field campaigns in the region.

As noted, preparations are currently underway for the start of the wheat harvest. Inter-row cultivation, watering and fertilizing with minerals are carried out in the fields sown with cotton, while agricultural machinery is effectively used. For the successful implementation of the planned cocoon production in the region, the delivery of harvested cocoons to receiving points is currently ongoing.

In accordance with the tasks set to further strengthen the country’s food security, the region is coordinating work on planting and caring for potatoes and melons, as well as harvesting the grown crop.

In addition, it was reported on preparations for holding festive and sporting events in the velayat dedicated to International Children’s Day and World Bicycle Day, as well as the summer holiday season for children.

After hearing the report, the President emphasized strict adherence to agro-technical requirements for caring for cotton and high-quality preparation for harvesting grain, giving the khyakim relevant instructions.

Then the khyakim of the Dashoguz velayat D. Babayev reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural work in the region. As noted, in order to ensure high-quality and organized grain harvesting, receiving points, elevators, grain harvesters and other equipment are currently fully prepared in the region.

Inter-row cultivation, weeding and thinning, as well as preparation for watering and fertilizing with minerals, continue in the fields sown with cotton. At the same time, measures are being taken to sow rice on schedule. As part of the cocoon harvesting season, work continues on delivering them to receiving enterprises. Along with this, potatoes and other vegetable and melon crops are being watered and cared for in accordance with agro-technical standards in the fields of the velayat.

It was informed about preparations for cultural and mass events dedicated to International Children’s Day and World Bicycle Day, as well as for the summer season of children’s recreation.

After hearing the report, the head of state emphasized the importance of the current important season in agriculture and instructed the khyakim to constantly monitor the implementation of agricultural work in the fields of the region. Then, the khyakim of the Lebap velayat M. Annanepesov reported on the progress of agricultural campaigns in the region.

As reported, measures are currently being taken to prepare for the wheat harvest without losses and within the established time frame. Inter-row cultivation, weeding and thinning, fertilizing with minerals and watering are carried out in the cotton fields of the velayat, while agricultural machinery is effectively used. Along with caring for potatoes and other vegetable and melon crops, the harvesting of ripe early potatoes is underway in the velayat.

In addition, information was provided on preparations for holding events in the velayat on the occasion of International Children’s Day, World Bicycle Day, as well as organizing summer recreation for children.

Summarizing the report, the President of Turkmenistan noted that timely and high-quality performance of agricultural work is one of the main conditions determining the efficiency of agricultural production, and gave the khyakim a number of specific instructions.

Then, the khyakim of the Mary velayat B. Orazov reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns.

As noted, measures are being taken in the region for an organized start to the harvest and loss-free collection of the wheat crop grown thanks to the selfless work of farmers. Inter-row cultivation, mineral fertilizer application and irrigation are being carried out in a coordinated manner in the cotton fields of the velayat, with special attention being paid to the efficient operation of agricultural machinery. Along with this, the harvesting of silkworm cocoons and their delivery to the state continues. At the same time, potato and other vegetable and melon crops are being cared for, as well as the harvesting of the grown crop.

It was informed on preparations for the celebrations on the occasion of International Children’s Day, World Bicycle Day and the children’s summer holiday season.

After hearing the report, the head of state instructed the khyakim to ensure high-quality care of the cotton crops, as well as proper preparation for the grain harvesting campaign. Then Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural work in the country.

As reported, appropriate measures have been taken to prepare for the organized conduct of the wheat harvest in compliance with the established deadlines. Grain reception points, elevators and vehicles for transporting the harvest have been prepared.

The country is implementing comprehensive measures to care for cotton fields, in particular, inter-row cultivation, thinning, weeding, fertilizing with minerals, watering, while agricultural machinery and units are effectively used.

Rice sowing continues in Dashoguz velayat, while preparations for rice sowing are underway in Lebap velayat. Along with this, silkworm cocoons are being harvested and delivered to the state. Potatoes and other vegetable and melon crops are being cared for and ripened crops are being harvested in the regions.

Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that timely implementation of agro-technical measures on agricultural lands, strict adherence to agricultural standards, efficient use of land and water resources, consistent introduction of innovative methods in production facilitate obtaining high yields, sustainable development of agricultural production and, ultimately, further strengthening food abundance in the country, giving the Deputy Prime Minister a number of specific instructions in this regard.

Then, addressing the participants of the working meeting, the head of state emphasized the importance of the upcoming grain harvesting campaign and instructed to carefully prepare for this important season.

Having emphasized the importance of proper care of cotton, the President of Turkmenistan ordered to strictly control the implementation of inter-row cultivation, fertilizing with minerals and watering in accordance with agro-technical terms, to carry out timely work to prevent cotton pests, and to accelerate the rate of delivery of cocoons to the state in the Balkan, Dashoguz and Mary velayats.

In addition, the head of state noted the need to ensure rice sowing in the Dashoguz velayat in accordance with agro-technical terms, timely settlements for work performed between cotton and wheat producers in the regions and service organizations and enterprises.

Separate instructions concerned strict control over measures to care for potato crops and other vegetable and melon crops and the harvesting of ripened crops, proper preparation for high-level events on the occasion of International Children’s Day and World Bicycle Day, as well as organizing the preparation of the children’s holiday season. 

Concluding the working meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished its participants sound health, family well-being and great success in their work.
