On May 16, 2025, during a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people and the head of the friendly country warmly greeted each other and highly appreciated the current state of steadily developing cooperation between the two countries.

President Vladimir Putin, noting the importance of the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2025”, expressed sincere gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people for participating in this high-level meeting and, taking the opportunity, conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, congratulating President Vladimir Putin on the 80^th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, expressed gratitude for the invitation to take part in the forum in Kazan and conveyed best wishes from the President of Turkmenistan.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction that relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, based on the principles of friendship, trust and mutual understanding, are developing dynamically in various areas, and emphasized the importance of continuing an active interstate dialogue.

As emphasized, bilateral political and diplomatic relations are also actively developing. Our countries effectively cooperate within the framework of regional and international organizations. In this regard, the parties expressed confidence that Turkmen-Russian relations will be consistently strengthened for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.

At the end of the conversation, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin wished each other good health, well-being and success in responsible state activities, and prosperity and progress to the friendly peoples of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.
