Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to the Balkan velayat, got acquainted with the progress of construction and improvement of the venue for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

Here, the head of state was presented with projects of the facilities being constructed.

In recent years, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking with international initiatives of Turkmenistan, has been consistently promoting the principles of neutrality as a key instrument for maintaining peace and sustainable development.

The International Year of Peace and Trust is notable for its anniversary date - the 30^th anniversary of the recognition by the United Nations of the status of permanent neutrality of our country, which is based on the humanistic ideals of the Turkmen people. This fact clearly demonstrates the effective nature of consistent interaction with the Community of Nations in promoting the ideas of neutrality - peace and sustainable development, which are consonant with universal values.

As is known, at the 63^rd plenary meeting of the 79^th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held on the 11^th of April, 2025, the Resolution «Additional information on the modalities of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries» was adopted by consensus. This event once again confirmed the recognition of Turkmenistan's globally relevant initiatives by the world community. In this regard, the head of state emphasized the importance of taking measures to organize one of the main events of this year - the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries - at a high level. Relevant instructions were given in this regard.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also got acquainted with the types of tree and flower seedlings that will be planted in the «Avaza» National Tourist Zone in preparation for the upcoming conference.

The ecological cleanliness of the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea is a consequence of the targeted measures effectively taken in our country. The «Avaza» National Tourist Zone on the Caspian coast is a clear example of this. All these activities are aimed at turning this corner, which has enormous recreational potential, into a major international-class tourist centre.

All conditions are created here so that our citizens and foreign guests can relax in comfort on the seashore, as well as get acquainted with the natural attractions of this region.

In this regard, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that the beautiful resort area should make a favourable impression on the numerous foreign guests who will come here to participate in the international conference. Speaking about this, the head of state gave a number of instructions on the improvement and cleaning of the territory, optimisation of landscape gardening.
