On March 19, 2025, a telephone conversation took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during which they discussed the possibilities of deepening the traditional interstate cooperation, which has been successfully developing all these years on a bilateral and multilateral basis.

Having warmly greeted each other, Hero-Arkadag and the head of the friendly state first of all exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the upcoming holiday – Novruz Bayramy, addressing the best wishes to the fraternal peoples of the two countries.

Hero-Arkadag noted that we celebrate Novruz Bayramy in the International Year of Peace and Trust with the firm belief that the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples, in accordance with the wise precepts of their ancestors, will unite and continue to walk shoulder to shoulder along the path of strengthening brotherhood, friendship and good neighborliness.

Having thanked Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his great personal contribution to strengthening relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted with satisfaction that today bilateral relations are actively developing in a wide range of areas.

The main factor in such dynamics, according to Hero-Arkadag, is the open, trusting and constructive political dialogue established at the highest state level.

– We fully support the holding of the “Central Asia – European Union” and “Central Asia – Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf” Summits in Uzbekistan this year, as well as the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, the National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized, expressing confidence in the joint fruitful work on the preparation and high-level holding of the above-mentioned international events.

The next topic raised in the context of international activity was the international conference “Year of Peace and Trust: Development of International Activities for the Sake of Children”, planned to be held in the city of Arkadag on March 29, organized by the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship.

Having expressed gratitude for the proactive approach of the leadership of Turkmenistan to solving urgent problems of our time and effectively building interstate relations on a bilateral and multilateral basis, the Uzbek Leader expressed confidence that the unification of common efforts and coordination of joint actions will serve the sustainable and stable development of not only our two neighboring countries, but also the entire Central Asian region as a whole.

– As you can see, 2025, declared the “International Year of Peace and Trust”, is full of international events in both Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. All of them are dedicated to noble goals – strengthening friendship between peoples, developing cooperation between states, expanding ties between people, the National Leader of the Turkmen people said in conclusion, expressing confidence that our fraternal countries, which have high authority in the world arena and actively promote the principles of the UN in their domestic and foreign policies, will continue to make their significant contribution to the implementation of long-term and large-scale strategies and programs adopted by the Community of Nations, contribute to the consolidation of international efforts to strengthen global peace, security and stability, and ensure sustainable development on the planet.
