Turkmen sambo wrestlers won one gold and two bronze medals at the 47th World Championships that started in Bishkek.

Today, a ceremony has been held in the Turkmen capital on the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to award the athletes who won prizes at recent major international competitions such as the 7th International Sports Games “Children of Asia” in the city of Vladivostok, the Russian Federation, and the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games in the city of Konya, the Republic of Turkey.

Today, on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a ceremony was held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone to honor athletes who won prizes in recent major international competitions - “the Silk Way-2022” rally-raid held in the Russian Federation, and the Asian Weightlifting Championship among juniors and youth, which took place last month in the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan - the city of Tashkent.

In the modern world, sport is a significant aspect of international cooperation. 

In two age categories at once - among girls (under 17) and juniors (under 20) - Turkmen weightlifter Anamjan Rustamova won the title of Asian Vice Champion. A student of the 10th grade of the capital's sports school "Olimp" achieved this success at the continental youth championship taking place in Tashkent in the weight category up to 81 kg.

The title of vice-champion of Asia with three medals in the snatch, clean and jerk and combined total was won by Turkmen Surajbek Sapaev at the ongoing Asian weightlifting championship among youths and juniors in the capital of Uzbekistan.

Turkmen weightlifters won 11 medals at the Asian championship among youths (under 17 years old) and juniors (under 20 years old) held in Tashkent.

Today, the capital has hosted a regular meeting of the General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan. Within the framework of its agenda, the report on the activity of NOC for 2016-2021 was heard and the issues connected with election of the President of the National Olympic Committee of the country were considered.

Today, the administrative center of Balkan velayat hosted events dedicated to the upcoming National Day of the Turkmen Horse.
