Following the Resolution of the UN General Assembly on declaring June 3 as the World Bicycle Day, as well as with the aim to popularize physical culture and sports, to secure the principles of the healthy life style in the society, to attract the younger generation to practicing sports, to increase the international sports authority of Turkmenistan and further promote cycling in the country, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Decree, authorizing:

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held special session of the Government in the Olympic village dedicated to the development of sports. Preparation to sport events of the year as well as number of topical aspects of the state policy was brought up for discussion.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held regular vide conference session with the participation of some Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, hyakims of the velayats and Ashgabat where priority directions of the regions and capital development, course of seasonal agricultural works as well as organization of planned international events have been reviewed.

The President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution having assigned to establish the State Committee on organized grain harvesting in 2018 and to approve its composition for rapid picking of grown crops, unstoppable transportation of the harvest to warehouses and grain elevators and timely payment settlements with the grain growers.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent the cable of condolences to Chairman of the State Council and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez concerning the crush of passenger aircraft next to Havana International Airport caused numerous human victims and injuries.

Saturday working day of the President of Turkmenistan was forestalled by cycling ride – early in the morning, the Head of the State made cycling ride from the Kopetdag foothills to the centre of the capital.

On May 17, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held joint session of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council of Turkmenistan where topical subjects of the state life were reviewed.
