The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held the briefing dedicated to the outcomes of the Summit of the Heads of the State – Founders of the International Fund for Saving of Aral Sea chaired by the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Avaza National tourist zone on August 24. Representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in our country, foreign and national mass media have been invited to the meeting.

Fifty interactive whiteboards and a batch of office equipment arrived at the disposal of the education department of the Dashoguz region on the eve of the new school year. They are distributed across etraps and installed in urban and village general education schools.

During the briefing in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on August 27, Special Representative of the UN Secretary – General for Central Asia, Head of the UN Regional Centre of Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Natalia Gherman highlighted that the UN and the RCPDCA give high appraisal to the Summit of the Heads of State – Founders of the International Fund for Saving of Aral Sea in Avaza, which has confirmed key role of the IFAS as a platform for interstate cooperation in recovery after the Aral tragedy.

Speaking at the briefing at the Foreign Ministry dedicated tit he outcomes of the Summit of the Heads of the State – founders of the International Fund for Saving of Aral Sea, Head of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat Natalya Drozd highlighted that election of Turkmenistan as the chairing country of the IFAS is the evidence of high appraisal of the country’s activity in provision of ecological security in the region.

During the briefing in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on August 27, Permanent UN Coordinator, Permanent UNDP Representative in Turkmenistan Elena Panova noted that friendly and trustful atmosphere inherent to this meeting became the guarantee of the achievement of constructive agreements between five Central Asian states, which was reflected afterwards in the Joint Communique.

Weightlifting competitions have been completed at the XVIIII Summer Asian Games. According to the tradition, the heavy weightlifters were the last to compete. Hojamuhammet Toychiyev represented our country in the weight category above 106 kg where he took the fourth position in the tournament table.

On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan G. Mammedova received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain Ebrahim Yusuf Al Abdullah.

The jujitsu tournament has been competed at the Asian Summer Games. Despite all efforts, Turkmen sportsmen have lost their chances to win event though they were close to win. Except Kemal Meredov who won the bronze in ‘ne-waza’ discipline in the weight category up to 56 kg.

Following his habit, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov dedicated his day off to the sports and had a training on new racing vehicle, having tested its technical characteristics in natural desert conditions. During test drive in the Karakums, the Head of the State covered considerable distance with complex landscape.
