The hallmark of any capital in the world is the airport. This is not surprising. The first structure that impressed those arriving in the country is, of course, the air terminal building and conditions created therein. 

Turkmenistan had been the heart of the Great Silk Road for many centuries. A special importance in the restoration of this transport and trade way in its modern form is attached to the transport complex of the country.

In order to develop the country’s road construction, upgrade and increase the transport and transit capacity, the Government of Turkmenistan adopted a resolution on the construction of a two-way two-lane road bridge across the Garabogaz Kol Bay along the Turkmenbashy-Garabogaz-border of Kazakhstan highway and its lead roads.

In recent years, Turkmenistan has been actively carrying out projects to form a multi-vector logistics system. In particular, the infrastructure of the maritime transport network is expanding. One of such large-scale facilities commissioned in 2018 was the international port of Turkmenbashy on the Caspian coast.

Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, according to a good tradition, attended the New Year's performance at the Main New Year Tree of the country, installed on the square in front of the Älem Cultural and Entertainment Center.

Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a joint session of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council, to which the khyakims of the velayats and Ashgabat city were also invited.

Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed the state and future of interstate cooperation meeting key interests of Turkmen and Uzbek people during the telephone conversation today.

With a view of creation of favourable conditions of celebration of the New Year holiday and good recreation of population, as well as in accordance with part 2 of article 81 of the Labour Code of Turkmenistan, I decree:

Under the wise leadership of deeply esteemed President of Turkmenistan Serdar Gurbangulyevich Berdimuhamedov, every day of the year “The epoch of people with Arkadag” is marked with significant events and labour achievements.

With a view of the opening of buildings and facilities at high level in the Era of Revival of the Powerful State in Arkadag city of Akhal region, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution in accordance with, which the relevant organizing committee was set up and its staff was approved.
