The President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, received the Minister of Transport, Maritime and Communication of the Republic of Turkey, Ahmet Arslan.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Chairman of the Governing Council of Calik Holding group of companies, Ahmet Calik.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received governor of the Astrakhan Region, the Russian Federation Alexander Zhilkin, who arrived in our country to take part in the festivities on the occasion of opening of the International seaport in Turkmenbashi.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Ahmad Akhoundi. The guest conveyed greetings from the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, to the Turkmen leader.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Board of the “Uzbekiston Temir Yullary” JSC Achilbay Ramatov, who took part in the events on the occasion of putting the International Seaport in Turkmenbashi into operation.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Head of International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations Babar Badat who arrived in Turkmenistan for the participation in International Conference ”The Great Silk Road. Toward New Level of Progress”.

Certificate and prize award ceremony to new Turkmenbashi port by the experts of different organizations took place at international transport forum held in Avaza.

Speaking at International Forum “The Great Silk Road: Towards New Frontiers of Development”, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov encouraged activation of the discussion of various aspects of the construction of transport corridor Afghanistan – Turkmenistan – Azerbaijan – Georgia - Turkey.

When considering the issues of cooperation in the transport and logistics sphere, Turkmenistan attaches particular importance to the active participation of the United Nations in this work. Putting forward the initiative to establish a global dialogue on the transport issues, speaking during the International Forum “The Great Silk Road – towards new heights of development”, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that we proceeded from the fact that today it was directly linked to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Speaking during the International forum “The Great Silk Road: Towards New Frontiers of Development”, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the new sea port in the strategically important Caspian region provides a large platform for enhancing interregional cooperation, increasing the volumes and improving the quality of transportation, and contributes to establishing the new configuration of the transportation flow.
