Turkmen satellite enables Afghanistan to broadcast its television programs

Located in geostationary orbit, Turkmenistan’s satellite, “TürkmenÄlem 52°Е”, enables to provide comprehensive communications services, including digital broadcasting, telephone communications, videoconferencing, data transmission, satellite Internet not only to customers in our country, but also to users in other countries in Central Asia, Iran, Turkey, North Africa, Europe. At present, high-capacity transponders of the satellite allow high-definition national television and radio broadcasting. Various ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan use satellite-provided services. “Turkmen Hemrasy” Closed Corporation has been established to render satellite services and lease (transponders, segments) via “TürkmenÄlem 52°Е”. Today, it offers services to large foreign companies working in our country’s oil-and-gas sector. Afghanistan’s three television channels are broadcast via the Turkmen satellite. Over 20 foreign television channels are being broadcast in test mode as well. They are due to be broadcast on the commercial basis in this year’s April. “Turkmen Hemrasy” Closed Corporation installed teleport equipment to provide a host of space communications services - broadband Internet, and others. “TürkmenÄlem 52°Е” has enabled to render cellular communications and telephone communications services to remote and hard-to-reach settlements, located in mountainous areas and the Kara Kum. \
