The 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games will be watched and listened to throughout the world. Turkmenistan is preparing for a large-scale sporting event to be held at high level this autumn. A great deal of work is underway to expand the information and telecommunications networks which will improve the quality of communications and broadcasting. The Turkmen television agencies will organize live broadcast of sports competitions with the help of «TürkmenÄlem 52ºE» national satellite. The speed of external Internet links will be twice as quicker. Nineteen 2G (GSM), 3G (UMTS) mode base stations will be installed in order to provide stable cellular communication services within the Olympic Village and other areas of the capital. The expansion of 4G network (LTE) is carried out at an accelerated pace. To be installed only within the Olympic Village are 40 base stations of this generation, which will provide the most advanced communications services to guests during the Asian Games-2017, including high-speed Internet and mobile TV. The Closed Corporation “Altyn Asyr” (National Cellular Communications Operator) has concluded contracts with the relevant operators in all countries-parties to this sporting event for the roaming services provision.
