Guided by the ancient sacred traditions of the Turkmen people, such as humanism and compassion, and with the aim of consistently continuing the positive experience of noble humanitarian activities, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree. According to this document, humanitarian aid is to be sent on behalf of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship to the Afghan people—primarily to children and residents of the country affected by the earthquake. The aid will include medicines, food products, textiles, and other necessary goods.

The Turkmen people have always considered it a noble cause to assist their closest neighbor in difficult times, to extend a brotherly hand, especially to support children in need of assistance and care. Proof of this is the support our country provides to the friendly people of Afghanistan. The Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship provides assistance not only to the children of our country but also helps and supports children around the world.

As Hero Arkadag notes, the strength of all values is concentrated in the principles of humanity and humaneness. The foundation of any developed society is strengthened based on these norms. Today in Turkmenistan, the traditions of extending a brotherly hand and providing support in difficult times are worthily continued as a basis for strengthening friendly relations and good neighborliness between states.

The decision of the head of state to send humanitarian aid to the people of a neighboring country is a spiritual support for those affected by the natural disaster, which caused a large number of casualties, injuries, and widespread destruction, and an additional expression of deep respect for the Afghan people.
