Guided by the initiatives of Hero-Arkadag, with the constant support of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, comprehensive work is being carried out to modernize the domestic healthcare system in accordance with international standards. Consistent steps are being taken to strengthen the health of the population and increase human life expectancy. The presentation of prestigious international certificates to new modern facilities in this area, commissioned thanks to the tireless efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, increases the inspiration and pride of not only the workers of the industry, but also all Turkmen citizens.

With the blessing of Hero-Arkadag, last year, the opening of the International Health and Rehabilitation Center for 400 people, equipped with advanced technologies, and the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology for 250 people, which have no analogues in the region, was timed to coincide with the Day of Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers of Turkmenistan. The medical centers were awarded the “GERMAN DESIGN AWARD WINNER 2025” Certificates from the Rat für Formgebung of the German Design Council for the design and architectural features of the projects, as well as for equipping these medical institutions with innovative equipment that meets international standards. The high-quality services and working conditions rendered to patients here meet international requirements, and the medical equipment used is environmentally friendly. 

The International Health and Rehabilitation Center and the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology, built and commissioned under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and on the initiative of the Honored Architect of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, deserve high international recognition. The construction of these facilities is a great achievement for the Turkish company GAP Inşaat Ýatyrym we Dyş Tijaret A.Ş.: the projects of the centers built in Ashgabat helped it participate in and win the competition held by the German organization Rat für Formgebung German Design Council in Frankfurt, Federal Republic of Germany, in the categories of architecture, design and product design. 

It should be noted that this competition is held annually in Frankfurt by the German Design Council Rat für Formgebung with the support of the Federal Government of Germany. 

As is known, the International Health and Rehabilitation Center and the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology were opened and put into operation in October last year with the participation of Hero-Arkadag. At the same time, these new modern facilities were awarded certificates and corresponding signs, which became recognition of the high level of the centers, their compliance with international quality standards and high-tech medical equipment. 

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the centers, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the construction and commissioning of such modern facilities allows us to improve the quality of medical services provided to the population of our country, create new jobs, improve the working conditions of doctors, which clearly demonstrates the care of the state, providing all opportunities for the development of the domestic healthcare system.

In this regard, it is worth noting the recently signed Resolution by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov “On Approval of the Regulation on Clinical Residency”, which gave a powerful impetus to further advancement of the work carried out in this direction. This document, adopted in accordance with the Law of Turkmenistan “On Education”, is aimed at implementing the tasks outlined in the “Saglyk” State Program, training highly qualified medical specialists and further improving their professional training. 

Since its opening, the International Health and Rehabilitation Center has been providing high-quality services to patients. It is the only medical institution of this profile not only in the country, but also in the entire Central Asian region, specializing in restoring the health of patients after injuries and diseases. The structure of the center, equipped with multimedia rehabilitation medical stock, includes more than 20 different departments designed to improve the health of both children and adults. 

The work of each department is focused on an individual approach to the patient. The International Health and Rehabilitation Center has created all the conditions for effective activities to protect the health of our citizens – both the high professional level of doctors and the achievements of modern medicine.

This medical institution carries out inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation of adults and children after chronic diseases and operations. Along with advanced technologies, the experience of traditional medicine is used here. This facilitates the fastest possible return of patients suffering from various diseases to normal life and full restoration of their ability to work.

Another such important facility is the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology for 250 people, opened in the capital with the blessing of Hero-Arkadag.

The compact location of scientific and clinical departments, laboratories and diagnostic departments creates favorable conditions for the timely and organized solution of the tasks. The International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology studies the healing properties of medicinal plants, allergology and immunology, such areas as proper nutrition, physical activity, sports and labor physiology, and also conducts clinical, educational, scientific and laboratory work in these areas. The center has all the capabilities that allow maintaining stable functioning of the respiratory system and circulatory system.

Based on the principle of “mentor-student” laid down here, a school for young doctors was created, where domestic specialists, within the framework of international cooperation in the field of healthcare, actively introduce into medical practice treatment methods that meet international standards. Thanks to the use of innovative equipment, the time of patient rehabilitation after operations and restoration of their ability to work is reduced. As a result, patients are discharged from the center, transferred to the supervision of a family doctor and recover within a short time.

Currently, this center conducts choledochoscopic studies using a choledochoscope device, which allows for a correct and complete diagnosis and prescribes effective treatment. 

The cholangioscopy studies carried out here, which use a contrast agent under X-ray control and a special endoscopic device to access the internal and external bile ducts from the oral cavity, are of great help in diagnosing stones, blockages and other causes that impede the outflow of bile. After diagnosing the disease, an operation is performed to remove the stone or, if necessary, surgical treatment of the bile ducts. This method of surgical intervention is carried out without traumatizing the patient’s body and shortens the period of his postoperative recovery.

In addition, in cases where the passage of food from the stomach to the duodenum is difficult, which creates conditions for the development of various pathological phenomena in the human body, the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology successfully performs laparoscopic gastric resection using the Bilroth II method. Patients who have undergone such surgical treatment begin to eat independently and recover within a short period of time.
