The status of permanent Neutrality of our Motherland, confidently moving forward into the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state through transformations and achievements, opens up new opportunities for an even greater expansion of mutual understanding, relations of effective cooperation between states and peoples.

Independent Turkmenistan, relying on its neutral status, has accumulated valuable political experience in establishing relations with the states of the planet, authoritative international organisations in the name of peace, universal security and sustainable development throughout the world, based on the principles of mutual understanding, equal cooperation, which helps Turkmenistan maintain stability in the region and the world and develop fruitful cooperation.

The permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, whose status has been twice recognised by the United Nations, has become an important page in the history of the United Nations. The General Assembly of the United Nations has declared 12th of December as the International Day of Neutrality.

Peace and trust, being the most valuable concepts for ensuring a prosperous future for humanity, inseparably linked to each other, are currently becoming the main principle of development and cooperation between states and peoples. Turkmenistan, being committed to the principle of neutrality, guided by the doctrine of «Dialogue is a guarantee of peace», makes a great contribution to the development of international relations by peaceful means, ensuring universal security and sustainable development. The election of our country as Vice-Chair of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly,

the unanimous adoption by the General Assembly of the United Nations, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, of the resolutions «2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust» and «Central Asia – Zone of Peace, Trust and Cooperation» demonstrate the trust of the world’s states in our country, the success of the foreign policy strategy and the efforts of our Hero Arkadag, Arkadagly Hero Serdar, aimed at the prosperity of our native Fatherland, further strengthening its economic power and balanced, equal and mutually beneficial initiatives.

In order to further strengthen the role of our state in the world in the new historical period, widely promote and popularize domestic and foreign policy based on the principles of international cooperation, trust and friendship, international initiatives of universal significance, glorify throughout the world the glorious 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the ancient traditions of peacefulness, goodwill, humanity and hospitality of our people, raise the patriotic spirit of our citizens, educate the younger generation in the spirit of great pride, loyalty and boundless love for Independent, permanently Neutral Turkmenistan, based on the beautiful poem «Turkmenistan - the Homeland of Peace and Trust», created thanks to the talent and wisdom of our Hero Arkadag, widely revealing the meaning of peace, trust and fraternal friendship and their value, and also taking into account the proposals received from representatives of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, large public associations, labour collectives and citizens of our country, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan resolves:

Declare 2025 as the «International Year of Peace and Trust».
