A new sign of traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Japan was the publication of the literary and philosophical work of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov «Ömrümiň manysynyň dowamaty» in Japanese. This publication is a kind of symbol of a fruitful interstate dialogue based on mutual goodwill, mutual respect and trust.
In the modern epoch, Turkmen-Japanese cooperation has been enriched with new content. An integral component of the bilateral partnership is interaction in the humanitarian and educational sphere, as an important factor in strengthening the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding between countries and peoples, creating an optimal climate for full-scale cooperation that meets the goals of common well-being and prosperity.
The new edition has been translated into Japanese by the University of Tsukuba.
As is known, in March 2015, for assistance in the international educational program for mutual exchange in the field of education and research, Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who was in Japan at that time on a working visit, was awarded the academic title «Honourary Doctor» of the University of Tsukuba.
It should be noted that during the meeting of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the President of the University of Tsukuba Kyosuke Nagata, held in September last year, it was noted that the book «Ömrümiň manysynyň dowamaty» contains information about Japan, in particular, it is mentioned about modern Turkmen-Japanese relations. Having expressed a desire to translate this work, unique in content and meaning, into Japanese, the President of the University of Tsukuba expressed confidence that this would serve to further rapprochement and mutual understanding of the two peoples.
The work of Hero-Arkadag allows us to become more familiar with the history of the Turkmen people, the peculiarities of their mentality and principles of life, and to comprehend the contribution of the Turkmen to world scientific, economic and cultural progress. In addition, the pages of the book touch on such topics as the great achievements of our ancestors, the spiritual values of the nation, the principles of sacred independence and permanent neutrality, as well as the author’s thoughts about our present and future.
Thanks to the translation of the work «Ömrümiň manysynyň dowamaty» into Japanese, readers are given the opportunity to expand their understanding of the ancient history and rich culture of the Turkmen people, their vast spiritual world, philosophy, mentality, wise moral commandments that have lasting value for all humanity. This will certainly serve to further strengthen and develop fruitful friendly ties between the two countries.
