The head of state signed a Decree on granting Turkmenistan citizenship

Guided by the principles of humanism and virtue of our ancestors, based on adherence to generally recognized international norms for the protection of human rights and freedoms, taking into account the right of people to freely choose citizenship, as well as in accordance with the Law of Turkmenistan «On Citizenship of Turkmenistan», the President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree «On Admission to citizenship of Turkmenistan» deciding to accept a group of persons permanently residing in the territory of our country, who do not have citizenship, into the citizenship of Turkmenistan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Migration Service, together with other relevant ministries and sectoral departments, are instructed to continue to work on processing documents of stateless persons who have applied for citizenship of Turkmenistan, with subsequent submission of appropriate proposals to the President of Turkmenistan.
