A significant date - the Day of the Caspian Sea - was solemnly celebrated today on the picturesque coast of the National Tourist Zone Avaza.
This international holiday is held annually on the day of entry into force Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea (Tehran Convention), which was signed by all coastal countries, including Turkmenistan. In the current year, which is under motto "Happy youth with Arkadag Serdar", 20 years since day of the signing of this document, which increased the importance of the current events, becoming in the anniversary year for the Convention another call for stepping up efforts to ensure environmental well-being, globally significant for all mankind of the Caspian Sea.
As part of the festive action, a scientific and practical conference was held, exhibition, sports competitions, creative competitions, as well as performances song and musical groups of the velayat.
The program of festive events was opened by the scientific and practical conference "The Caspian Sea - the Sea of Peace and Friendship", held at the hotel "Hasyl" National Tourist Zone "Avaza". On behalf of the Head of State, the conference was organized by the Ministry of Environmental Protection with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the khyakimlik of the Balkan velayat.
The forum, held in a hybrid format, was attended by members Governments, leaders of the Mejlis, relevant ministries and departments, specialized structures and the scientific community of our country. The beginning of the conference was preceded by the unfolding in the lobby of the hotel complex exhibition, demonstrating the achievements of our country in environmental protection.

In a congratulatory Address by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to participants of the scientific-practical conference "The Caspian Sea - the Sea of Peace and friendship” it is noted that, being committed to the recognized internationally to the legal status of permanent neutrality, Turkmenistan will continue its efforts so that the Caspian remains a sea of peace, consent and cooperation.

In the speeches of representatives of the embassies of the Caspian states emphasized that by now a solid contractual and legal framework for cooperation in the region, covering a wide range of a range of issues in the areas of security, economics, ecology and nature management. In this regard, it was emphasized that today in the Caspian states work is underway on documents on cooperation in ensuring safety of navigation, in the field of search and rescue, combating poaching, through science and culture.
A kind of support for the preservation of the Caspian "pearl" can also become joint humanitarian projects that reveal historical and cultural roots promoting scientific and educational programs, tourist and sporting events, as well as environmental activities, instilling in the younger generation concern for the environment, noted speakers.
The participants of the conference were unanimous in their opinion that sustainable development Caspian Sea, gradual restoration of natural ecosystems up to level that guarantees environmental stability can be achieved only by the joint efforts of all the Caspian states. They always showed readiness to jointly decide, agree, adopt legal documents in various areas related to the Caspian Sea.
In the speech of the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of the Tehran Convention adopted 20 years ago, which laid the legal basis for the development of cooperation between coastal States to prevent further deterioration of the maritime environment of the Caspian Sea.
As is known, the Tehran Convention serves as a comprehensive framework management that establishes general requirements and institutional mechanism for environmental protection and sustainable development in the region Caspian Sea.
As noted, the UN supports the position of Turkmenistan on compliance with ecological safety of the reservoir, rational use of its bioresources and minerals, as well as the initiative of the Turkmen parties to develop an Agreement on scientific research on Caspian Sea in order to increase the effectiveness of joint activities in this direction.
It was emphasized that the UN is ready to take part and provide technical support in the implementation of the initiative of Turkmenistan on the creation of a New Caspian Environmental Program as a set of environmental measures to ensure the rational use of rich natural resources Caspian, including in matters of practical implementation of the provisions Tehran convention in ecology, economy and social sphere.
The determining factor of interaction is the common desire and determination to make the Caspian a zone of peace and harmony, an important component international strategic stability and security, an example solution of all issues exclusively by political and diplomatic means, on the basis of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity states.

OSCE Center in Ashgabat, which supports the initiatives of Turkmenistan on strengthening environmental and economic security and expanding regional partnership. Among current large-scale projects, implemented by the OSCE at the regional level, the project “Assistance to Green Ports and Connectivity in the Caspian Sea Region”, aimed at solving a number of differentiated tasks, including promotion of environmentally friendly, "green" energy.
In this regard, the importance of awarding the International Maritime port of Turkmenbashi Certificate EcoPorts. This document provides creation of a digital platform to facilitate the exchange of information between ports of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. It was emphasized that the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi in in accordance with the established procedure, organizes measures to reduce the impact waste on the state of the natural environment, keeps a transportation, processing, disposal, disposal and disposal.
