In the era of the revival of a new epoch of the powerful state, all conditions are created for the progressive development of the domestic textile industry, the conscientious and fruitful work of industry workers, including cocoon and silkworm producers.

Thus, this year, the masters of the "silver thread" of Turkmenistan successfully fulfilled their contractual obligations to harvest silkworm cocoons. This was reported to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on June 2, where drafts of a number of documents were also considered and priority issues of state life were discussed.

In general, the silkworm farmers handed over more than 2,300 tons of valuable high-quality raw materials for the textile industry to the Harman of the Motherland. This remarkable labor victory is a worthy response to the all-round concern of the head of Turkmenistan for rural workers, a visible result of the state policy in the field of the agro-industrial complex, aimed at optimal realization of the potential of the industry, its comprehensive reform and dynamic development with a view to the future.

Today, having received a new impetus for development, sericulture is one of the promising branches of the domestic textile industry, the products of which are in consistently high demand both in the domestic and world markets.

Every year, the effect of introducing the best types of silkworm into production, creating a reliable food base for the industry, for which planting mulberry trees is expanding in the velayats, is becoming more and more obvious.

Fundamental modernization of the profile infrastructure is also important. Thus, high-quality silk thread is produced by the Ashgabat silk-winding factory and the Turkmenabat silk production association. New workshops for the production of carpets, national keteni fabric and other materials and products from silk have been opened at these enterprises. Silk fiber ensures the smooth operation of the Rukhabat factory for the production of panne velvet, which is always in high demand among women.

Thus, the success of Turkmen silk growers who fulfilled their contractual obligations to harvest silkworm cocoons is a natural result of their primordial hard work and skill, as well as large-scale measures taken to revive the industry.

As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted in his Address to the industrious cocoon purveyors and sericulture masters of the country, special attention is paid to sericulture in order to support and stimulate entrepreneurship in rural areas.

It is obvious that the products of silk processing enterprises are in demand not only in the domestic textile industry - weaving and clothing sectors, but are also in great demand in other areas.

In recent years, the production of hand-woven silk carpets, decorative and applied arts, including national embroidery, has been rapidly developing at private enterprises. This led to a significantly increased interest in buying multi-colored silk yarn and threads.

As a result of the direction of colossal investments in the development of the industry through large-scale diversification and modernization, providing enterprises with advanced equipment, the quality of domestic products is increasing and its range is expanding. It adequately competes with the goods of foreign manufacturers.

It should be noted that silk is also in demand in the production of magnificent carpets. Currently, the enterprises of the State Association "Türkmenhaly" produce woolen and silk products, restoring unique samples of the rich spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people.

In order to increase the export potential of the country, the production of handmade carpets is increasing, satisfying the demand of foreign partners, connoisseurs of this art.

Employees of specialized enterprises, along with the creation of new production lines, pay special attention to the quality of their products, which fully comply with the environmental requirements in force in our country.

This year, the motto of which is “Happy youth with Arkadag Serdar”, the labor victory of Turkmen silkworm breeders contributes to increasing the production potential of the industry and, in general, strengthening the economic power of the Motherland.
