The new city of Arkadag is on the threshold of an important political event - elections of members of the Gengesh of the settlement named after Aba Annayev in Kyarizek etrap, which will take place on July 23, 2023.
There is no doubt that forthcoming elections will be held on principles of alternativeness, publicity and openness and become regular confirmation of adherence of Turkmenistan to the democratic way of development and success of progressive reforms in all spheres of life of the state and society initiated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
For organised elections of members of the Gengesh of the settlement named after Aba Annayev corresponding election committees were set up.
During sessions of primary organisations of the Democratic Party, Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Agrarian Party, public organisations and associations of Turkmenistan, groups of citizens of the country nominated most worthy candidates for electoral committees. Meetings and discussions on nomination of representatives for election committees, most part of which is experts of various branches of national economy, were organised.
At present, experts of the Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan held training seminars for members of election committees, who gave a chance for their participants to familiarise fully with the national electoral legislation and also with amendments and additions to the Electoral Code of Turkmenistan, their functions and procedures of conduction of forthcoming elections.
Besides, discussion of concrete issues connected with one of the most responsible stages of the action – nomination of candidates took place. The gathered was instructed how to , properly, in strict conformity with the current legislation to make up lists of voters and to organise explanatory work so that each citizen who has a vote, could realise his constitutional right for participation in management of affairs of society and state on the election day.
As a total, five members of the Gengesh should be elected and in this connection, five electoral districts were created and their territories were defined.
The given political campaign was organised according to the Electoral Code of Turkmenistan, in which all aspects of this process are reflected at the modern stage taking into account priorities of state strategy and major issues of social and economic development of the country.
In the given action, primordial democratic traditions of Turkmen people, which make up a basis of reformatory policy of the new historical period started by National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and consistently realised by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, received their worthy continuation.
Involvement of wide broad masses in affairs of state building, increase of responsibility of citizens for the destiny of our fatherland speak of triumph of principles of original democracy in modern Turkmen society.
