Today in Bereket district a new water reservoir intended for delivery of water of the Karakum-river to agricultural fields of the western region of the country was put in operation.

Members of the Government, top officials, specialists of Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection,  State Committee for Water Management, khyakimlik of  Balkan region  and also workers of village, representatives of public organisations and mass media, respectable elders and youth took part in the festivities.

The ceremony was held in the festive atmosphere - the square at the new building was decorated by flags and multi-coloured balloons. The programs of variety performers,   national singers and musicians, dancing folklore groups were presented.

During the ceremony the experts who have distinguished at the building of the new water management economy complex on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov were given costly presents.

There comes the culmination moment: honourable elders lift the screen and start the Karakum-river water to the water reservoir.

Then participants of the celebration familiarised themselves with work of water throughput and water measuring devices, visited the office building where the special equipment for management of the complex was established.

The water reservoir, which capacity makes up 18 million cubic metres, is constructed on the 1096th kilometre of the Karakum-river where water in taking constructions with a throughput of 30 cubic metres of water per second are located. It is intended for water gathering in the bottom current of "waterway" during the autumn -winter period, regulations of its giving during irrigation of agricultural fields.

At the site round the clock involved more than 180 units of powerful dredges, bulldozers and other modern special equipment regularly bought for needs of branch from leading world manufacturers.

At erection of the dam and water reservoir dams building materials from local open-cast mines were used. In particular, for their strengthening it was required 167, 5 thousand cubic metres of gravel. The general extent of the dam and reservoir makes more than 7, 8 kilometres. Besides the cores industrial, objects of road and power infrastructure also were constructed.

The commissioning of the new water economic complex which throughput makes 10 cubic metres of water per second, will allow to raise reliability of maintenance with water for irrigation of arable grounds in Bereket district.

Participants of the festivity drew up the letter of gratitude to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in which they expressed immense gratitude to the leader of the nation for condition created for workers of the sector, having assured the head of the state of that, as henceforth they will work self-denyingly for the sake of our Fatherland’s prosperity.
