Today, the capital hosted a conference "International cooperation in the field of food security", which was attended by specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, the Foreign Ministry, representatives of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Agrarian Party of Turkmenistan, employees of a number of research institutions, teachers of Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov, as well as, foreign agricultural scientists through the video communication system.
During the forum in the food sector were discussed a wide range of issues related to the strengthening and development of international partnerships As noted, the President of Turkmenistan pays great attention to this aspect, including in the context of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by all UN member states. In accordance with the priorities of the policy consistently implemented by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, solid investments are being made in the creation of a modern agro-industrial infrastructure.
Thanks to the deep reforms carried out in the country's agriculture, as well as the comprehensive state support for small and medium-sized businesses, significant success has been achieved in ensuring food abundance, which is an important factor in the prosperous life of people. Specific measures are being taken to modernize and diversify the agro-industrial complex, increase the volume of agricultural production, including through the rational use of land and water resources, increase the yield of agricultural crops, the introduction of modern technologies, and the latest achievements of agricultural science. Today along with grain and cotton growing are actively developing livestock, poultry, vegetable growing, horticulture, viticulture, melon growing, beekeeping and other types of agricultural business.
In this context, it was noted that, in accordance with the instructions of the leader of the nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, it is important to further expand cooperation with foreign partners, primarily in the use of advanced agricultural technologies.
