The Ministry of Finance and Economy held the conference on the key directions of the forthcoming work in the context of the implementation of the State Programme to Support Small and Medium-sized Entrepreneurship in Turkmenistan in 2018-2024 and the plan of relevant activities for this period, which were approved by the Resolution of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on March 16, 2018. As was noted, the formation of the powerful national economy that meets the requirements of the times stood as one of the most important aspects of the fundamental reforms. In this context, the private sector plays the significant role in the implementation of the tasks on the technological development of the national economy, the production of high-quality, competitive products, and the provision of food abundance in the country. Turkmenistan has created the favorable legal, economic, financial and social conditions for the effective and dynamic development of small and medium-sized business, and private initiatives. That is vividly proved by the improvement of the tax system, simplification of the export-import operations, the preferential taxation and credit provision. Those speaking during the conference underlined that the complex measures envisaged in the State Programme for the development of entrepreneurship, the saturation of the domestic market with high-quality home-produced goods, increasing the volumes of export products, and increasing the role of private business would ensure the high rates of development of the Turkmen economy and the growth of foreign trade turnover in the near future. It was underlined the importance of the practical steps taken to ensure the timely implementation of programmes to modernize the financial, economic and banking systems, as well as to develop all economic sectors under the market economy conditions.
