At the expanded meeting of the Government, held on January 26, the results of the national contest for the title of the best etrap of Turkmenistan were announced. When summarizing the results of the contest, a special commission headed by the National Center of Trade Unions took into account such indicators as the successful implementation of the national rural program, the fulfillment of contractual obligations to collect grain and cotton, and the commissioning of social and cultural facilities. Attention was also paid to such aspects as the solution of issues of labor employment, environmental safety, cultural leisure and attraction of the population to physical culture and sport, strengthening the foundations of a healthy society. Taking into account the analysis of these data submitted by ministries and sectoral departments, as well as expert assessments, initially in each velayat was established etrap or a city with etrap rights, achieving the best results, and then among the winners of the velayat tour the best etrap of the country in 2017 was selected. It became the Vekylbazar etrap of the Mary velayat. Having listened to the information and addressed congratulations to the winners of the contest, the President of Turkmenistan signed an Order on awarding a cash amount equivalent to one million US dollars, the Vekilbazar Etrap of the Mary velayat. The document instructed the Central Bank of Turkmenistan to allocate the above-mentioned funds from the State Development Fund.
