Afghanistan Leader Thanks President of Turkmenistan for Initiating Construction of Serhetabad – Torghundi Railway Line

President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, sent a message to the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, expressing gratitude for efforts to expand friendly and good-neighborly relations between countries. “Involvement of Your Excellency in the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of Serhetabad – Torghundi railway line was, for the Afghan people, a significant event and became yet another evidence of friendly, brotherly and good-neighborly relations between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan”, states the message. “Construction of this railway line is an important project that will increase the goods turnover through Torghundi, create favorable conditions for the export of products from Afghanistan to foreign markets, and also greatly accelerate supply of necessities to Afghanistan”.
