Today, on the instructions of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov a regular meeting of the Council of Elders under the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan and the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship was held in the capital Palace «Maslakhat köşgi».

Its agenda included issues connected with the activities of members of the Council of Elders in places and upcoming goals as well as a number of organizational issues.

Speakers with pride pointed out that with support of National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag and under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan has reached today high indicators of development in all areas, its international authority promptly grows, social conditions of people improve. As was underlined, elders, who possess a rich life experience, regularly carry out corresponding work among citizens of the country, especially among the youth to advocate these achievements.

Besides it, an emphasis was made on the importance of the Council of Elders in explanation of noble activities to ensure harmonious development of the youth and large-scale measures adopted under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Hajy Serdar and priorities of development of the state. Elders expressed their sincere gratitude to National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag and head of the state Arkadagly Hero Serdar for their assistance in this noble cause and their high trust and wished them sound health, long life and successes in their large scale activity.

Elders, who personifies a link between generations - the past, present and future, serves an example of humanism and high morals. They support unity in families and inspire into high achievements and goals by their experience, admonishments and advice. Today, in the Era of Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, elders enjoy a great respect. It is one of the noble traditions of our people to respect elders.

At the meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty annually held on the eve of the sacred holiday - Independence Day of Turkmenistan, advice and proposals of elders, on the basis of which important decisions on further development of our state are developed and made,  are heard.

Maintenance of legal and social protection of young citizens, popularisation spiritual-moral and cultural values of Turkmen people in the world and recognition of principles of healthy lifestyle as well as education of the growing generation in the spirit of patriotism, humanism and civil responsibility, support and encouragement of their initiatives are priorities of the state policy of the country.

During the meeting, the special attention was given to the work of the Council of Elders under the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship. In that connection, it was noted that honoured elders are committed to national humane principles, including assistance to those, who need guardianship and care of children who have remained without parental custody.

One of the items on the agenda of the present meeting – admission of new members into the Council of Elders under the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan and the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship.

Speakers on this point marked that from the local councils of the Khalk Maslakhaty, public organisations and representatives of elders, proposals were received. Corresponding work was carried out to nominate worthy elders who are highly esteemed and enjoy due respect among people, possess high personal qualities, organising and other abilities.

In that regard, Honoured Elder of Turkmenistan from Ashgabat city Meretgeldi Gulgeldiyev was nominated to the Council of Elders under the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan and the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship by Ashgabat city.

M.Gulgeldiyev expressed his sincere gratitude to Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for created possibilities to involve the youth in the public life of the country to use rich labour and life experience of elders for strengthening unity of people and adoption of wise decisions on important state issues.

Honoured Elder of Turkmenistan Italmaz Saparlyev from Ashgabat city was also nominated to the membership of the Council of Elders under the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan and the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship by Ashgabat city.

Having underlined that thanks to initiatives of Hero-Arkadag, which are successfully continued by Arkadagly Hero Serdar, great successes are reached in realisation of large-scale programs in the new historical period of development of our country, I. Saparlyev noted that it evokes boundless pride in our people and inspires them into creative labour. As was stated, it is an important task to advocate widely these achievements and carry out an explanatory work among the population. Having expressed his gratitude to National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for possibilities to work in this sphere, I. Saparlyev expressed his gratitude for the trust and assured that he will work assiduously and honesty to fulfil set goals with honour.

At the meeting representative of the Council of Elders of Arkadag city Honoured Elder of Turkmenistan Kakajan Tashliyev was also nominated to the membership of the Council of Elders by Akhal velayat. 

Having expressed his sincere gratitude to Arkadagly Hero Hajy Serdar and Hero Hajy Arkadag, K.Tashliyev underlined that large-scale programs aimed at maintenance of peaceful and happy life of Turkmen people, sustainable development of our sovereign fatherland are successfully realised today. He assured that he would make all out efforts to bring a worthy contribution to the effective solution of set tasks for further prosperity of our country.

The candidates nominated to the Council of Elders under the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan and the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship were unanimously elected.

At the end of the meeting of the Council of Elders under the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan and the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, its participants assured that they will make their best to popularise centuries-old national traditions and possibilities created at the state level for education of the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and diligence.
