The WTO General Council held a regular meeting at the headquarters of the World Trade Organization in Geneva (Swiss Confederation). Turkmenistan's application for obtaining WTO observer status was considered during the meeting.

In his address to the President of Turkmenistan, President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping emphasized: “On behalf of the Government and the people of China, and on my own behalf, I have the honor to express my sincere gratitude to you for the letter of condolence you sent on the occasion of floods in several regions in southern China. Your letter demonstrated your great attention to the Chinese-Turkmen relations and long-standing friendship between the peoples of our states”.

A regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on the implementation of Turkmenistan's international obligations in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution authorizing to extend the deadline for admission to higher educational institutions and secondary technical schools of the country until August 21, 2020 and hold the entrance examination campaign in the administrative centres of the region and Ashgabat.

Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov took part in the first ministerial meeting in the format “Central Asia-China” held in a videoconference format. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People's Republic of China also took part in the online meeting.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed condolences to President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping over the victims, injured and significant damages caused by severe floods in several provinces of the country.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarovand and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Haneef Atmar held a trilateral online meeting.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev had a telephone conversation.

For fulfilment of the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan on Sowing and Cultivation of high yields of winter potato and other agricultural crops in the regions in 2020, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution allowing the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Protection to sign the contract with VEYA INVEST Ltd (Russian Federation) for procurement of 14,000 tons of seeds of winter potato.

The Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan hosted the meeting of Head of the Ministry Rashid Meredov with experts of consultative and technical mission of European Bureau of the World Health Organization, which is on working visit to our country.
