The Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan developed the plan to train specialists, within the country and abroad, who will work at the 1574 MW combined cycle power plant that is being constructed at Mary Hydropower Plant, as well as to send them to Europe to study the best practices.

In the framework of economic reforms initiated in Turkmenistan, the private sector, entrepreneurs and industrialists play an increasingly important role. This is seen in the results of the first two months of 2017.

Dynamic development of the country’s economy continues in 2017. During the past two months, Turkmenistan preserved the GDP growth dynamics, which equaled to 6.2 per cent in January-February. The increase amounted to 7.8 per cent in agriculture; to 16.9 per cent in trade; to 14.2 in transport and communication; and to 10.3 per cent in the services sector.

Cotton planting in Ahal, Lebap and Mary provinces will start on 25 March, while in Dashoguz the works will be commenced on 29 March. According to tradition, the launch of this important campaign will be attended by community elders.
