The 8th International Gas Congress (TGC-2017) and an exhibition timed to coincide with it have opened in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. The big specialized forum is co-organized by Turkmengas State Concern and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

This week at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan 57 transactions were registered.

On May 24-25, the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone is to host the 7th International Gas Congress. The forum will focus on the diversification of export routes and transit of Turkmen natural gas, construction of international gas pipelines, investment conditions in Turkmenistan, current situation and development prospects of the world gas market, international environmental initiatives of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, and others.

In order to further strengthen the country’s economic potential, and the planned expansion of wheat production, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree, having ordered to establish a state Commission for Organized Conducting a Grains Harvesting Campaign in 2017, and having approved its composition to ensure the high-level organization of a prompt and loss-free harvesting of a grown crop, its uninterrupted transportation to warehouses and elevators, and timely settlement of accounts with grain producers.

Speaking at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov placed special emphasis on the progress of reforms in the economic sphere. As mentioned, construction of 1900 major facilities worth 45 billion USD is underway in the country. About 1800 of those are being built by the local construction enterprises.

The Ministry of Industry of Turkmenistan has announced an international investment tender for the construction of a production line with a capacity of 300-600 thousand tons of cement per year within the Kelyata Cement Plant.

New equipment, John Deere W540 grain combine harvesters, whose first batch of about 50 units has already arrived in Turkmenistan, will be used during the upcoming harvesting campaign.
