At the meeting with the members of the Union of Industrialist and Entrepreneurs held on March 16, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made an important announcement – Avaza National tourism zone would be handed over to the jurisdiction of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.

The Energy Sector Coordinating Committee of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program (the Asian Development Bank) has started its meeting at the Ýyldyz Hotel in Ashgabat.

Mission of the International Monetary Fund chaired by Martin Sommer for the evaluation of the development of macroeconomic and financial situation, discussion of economic challenges and priorities of economic policy with responsible personnel of the government authorities, representatives of the real and financial sectors and diplomatic community have visited Ashgabat from February 16 to March 6, 2018.

As it was informed at the session of Turkmen Government, the cotton sowing campaign starts on March 23. Cotton grower of Ahal, Lebap and Mary Velayats will commence the sowing on that day, while Dashoguz Velayat will join them on March 28. In this regard, the Head of the State noted that future harvest mainly depends on the compliance with agrotechnical standards during the sowing, therefore it is important that this campaign would be held on time and on high level.

During the session of the Cabinet of Ministers on March 2, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the objectives of further steadfast development of fuel and energy complex including the improvement of its infrastructure, enhancement of production powers of petrochemical facilities producing wide variety of competitive goods.

Foundation stone laying ceremony of new industrial complex, which is to be built in accordance with the Programme of social and economic development of Turkmenistan in 2018 – 2024 as well as with the objectives set for the textile industry for the increment of the production export volumes, has been held in Kaahka etrap.

2017 was marked by the implementation of large-scale projects for modernization of existing roads, construction of railways and improvement of work of air and maritime fleet of the country. Our state playing important role in consolidation of trust and good neighbourhood in the region plays more active role as a generator of new ideas demanded by the time, which are implemented in the project of international importance.
