Ashgabat hosted the meeting of the High-Level Group on Trade and Investment Promotion, acting under the aegis of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on economic cooperation.

Past week at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan 11 transactions were registered.

The Turkmen-Iranian business forum, dedicated to the various areas of trade and economic cooperation was held within the framework of the XIV specialized exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran that showcased the export products and advanced developments of the friendly country in the Turkmen capital.

As reported at the session of the Government of Turkmenistan that reviewed the results of the two months of 2018, the GDP increased by 6.2 percent, with a 4.8 percent growth in the industrial sector, 10.4 percent in transport and communication, 8.4 percent in trade, 3.4 percent in agriculture and 10.1 percent in services.

To participate in the annual review of the achievements of the Iranian production complex, a solid delegation of businessmen headed by the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Shariatmadari arrived in Turkmenistan.

To continue ongoing works to provide government support to producers of import-substituting and export-oriented products in Turkmenistan, to further develop the domestic poultry farming, the President of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution exempting from duties certain kinds of goods brought to our country.

XIV specialized exposition of the Islamic Republic of Iran has started its work in Trade and Industrial Chamber. Delegation of the heads and representatives of more than 60 Iranian companies chaired by Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Shariatmadari arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the forum. The delegations include old partners of Turkmenistan that have many years of productive cooperation experience in different spheres. However, considerable part of the exhibitors are the companies for which current review is a starting point for the demonstration of its products in our country and for study of the opportunities of joint work with Turkmen colleagues.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed the greetings to the participants of XIV specialized exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran organized under Turkmen – Iranian business forum. The Head of the State highlighted in his message that these events, which are held in Ashgabat in the year under the slogan “Turkmenistan – the Heart of the Great Silk Road”, would give strong impulse to the expansion of multilateral Turkmen – Iranian relations and trade and economic cooperation.

It was published the first issue of theoretical and practical magazine “Finances and Economy”. The country’s Ministry of Finance and Economy is the founder of the new issue, edited in Turkmen, English and Russian.
