Work results of military and law enforcement agencies for the first quarter of the year are discussed during the session of the State Security Council held by President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Army General Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

By the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan, Shatlyk Devletmyradovich Purmammedov is appointed as the Director of Yashlyk TV and Radio Channel of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography.

The premiere of the “Planet of the Apes” performance, prepared by the Russian State Circus Company, was held with great success at the arena of the Turkmen State Circus.

The national holiday, “Drop of water – grain of gold” was celebrated in Turkmenistan. Main festivities were held in the park located by the bank of the Karakum River in the northern part of the capital. Numerous participants and guests were welcomed with traditional national delights – fresh bread, chorek; pastry – pishme, chapady, kulche; sweets and fruits.

Every year, the first Sunday of April is celebrated in Turkmenistan under the motto “Drop of water – grain of gold!”.This national holiday reflects ancestral traditions of the Turkmen people, who, during their millennia-old history, have held dear and sacred and preserved the respect for water as a priceless gift representing the life itself.

“For many centuries, our forefathers formed high culture of agriculture, they worked hard to improve the environment, make generous meadows out of pastures and cultivate rich harvest of the cultures, - the message of the Head of the State says. – Water wells, kyarizes, water reservoirs, canals, lakes and other water management facilities built by Turkmens in steppes, plains and mountains.

Businessmen from Great Britain, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan and other countries purchased hydro-treated diesel fuel, aviation and lighting kerosene, base oil produced by Turkmenbashy Refinery Complex and Russian entrepreneurs procured fine-grained potassium chloride for foreign currency. Besides, cotton purified oil, wheat, various one-coloured and jacquard terry items, cotton yarn, cotton fibre, regenerated fibre, cotton lint were sold for foreign currency. The counties buying these items were Russia, Great Britain, Switzerland, Netherlands, Singapore, UAE, Turkey, Afghanistan. Total amount of transactions exceeded 50 866 000 US dollars.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Garlyk mining and processing plant in Lebap velayat, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko noted that in the region rich in natural resources, the builders of the two countries built the largest in Central Asia complex for the production of potash fertilizers.

Speaking during opening ceremony of the ore-dressing and processing complex in Garlyk, the President of Turkmenistan underlined the strategic importance of the new enterprise in line with the chemical industry development – one of the priority sectors of the national economy.

The supply of potassium fertilizers is to be made by road and railway transport. New industrial complex includes more than 100 facilities.
