Today, independent neutral Turkmenistan is celebrating one of the most important dates on the national calendar – Constitution and Magtymguly Fragi’s Poetry Day. The national holiday, which symbolically links the adoption of the country’s Constitution and celebration in honor of the great poet and thinker, represents the continuity of spiritual and democratic experience of the Turkmen nation, and glorifies the national unity and concord.

In order to further strengthen the country’s economic potential, and the planned expansion of wheat production, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree, having ordered to establish a state Commission for Organized Conducting a Grains Harvesting Campaign in 2017, and having approved its composition to ensure the high-level organization of a prompt and loss-free harvesting of a grown crop, its uninterrupted transportation to warehouses and elevators, and timely settlement of accounts with grain producers.

Having announced the agenda, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave floor to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B. Hojamammedov who reported on the work for draft of the State Budget for 2018. It was informed that at present moment, the order of preparation of relative data and calculations necessary for development of the main financial document of the country is completed as well as the deadlines for submission of the documents are set.

President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov will hold talks with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who will be on a working visit in Turkmenistan on May 19-20 this year.

In Turkmenistan, the work is underway to draft a new version of the Law “On Countering Corruption”. This was reported at a joint session of the Cabinet and the State Security Council by Security Council Secretary, Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan Ya.Berdiyev.

With the purpose of further development of trade and economic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Moldova, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree, having approved the composition of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Moldovan Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation for the Turkmen part.

Governor of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia of the Republic of Moldova Irina Vlach expressed sincere gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov for his contribution to development of the social infrastructure in the region.

The adoption of the Main law of Turkmenistan 25 years ago became one of the important historical events of the period when the strong foundation of our independent state was laid, - the Head of the State says in his message.

The Constitution of Turkmenistan, adopted in new edition in September 2016, declares a man to be the supreme value of society and the state. “Protection, support of human and service to him are the main tasks of bodies of state power,” was enshrined in the country’s Basic Law.
