The meeting of the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Moldova took place in Ashgabat. After the end of the meeting Igor Dodon presented the highest State Award of Moldova “Medal of Republic” to the Turkmen Leader, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

Today in the ""Oguzhan"" Palace complex a ceremony of conferral of the title of Honourable citizen of Ashgabat upon Chairwoman of the Council of Federation of Federal Meeting of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko has taken place.

Today President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has received Chairwoman of the Council of Federation of Federal Meeting of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko who has arrived in Ashgabat at the head of the Russian delegation for participation in the solemn ceremony of opening of the 5th Asian indoor and martial arts games.

There were competitions over the sets of awards on Jiu-Jitsu, were held bouts on traditional wrestling, women futsal team game matches has started at the first half of the first competition day of the V Indoor and Martial Arts Asian Games.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon who arrived in Turkmen capital for participation in the opening events of V Asian Games.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received President of the Asian Olympic Council (AOC) Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah who arrived in Ashgabat for participation in the opening ceremony of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.

All people are looking forward to the official opening ceremony of V Asian Indoor and Martial Art Games on 17th of September in Ashgabat. In the meantime, the competitions of the Games have already started; they were opened by jujitsu contests.

The first gaming day of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games is completed. The official opening of the Games is to be held on September 17 however, the first sets of medals in jujitsu and national Turkmen wrestling have been contested and futsal matches have been started. By the results of the competitions, Turkmenistan national team leads in total medal count with 37 medals where 16 gold, 14 silver and 7 bronze medals.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held extended session of the Cabinet of Minister where members of the State Security Council, hyakims of velayats and Ashgabat city were invited. The agenda included utmost issues of the state life.

The Olympic Village hosted the flag raising ceremony for another several dozens of nations whose delegations have already arrived in the Turkmen capital to take part in the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
