The official closing ceremony for the Turkmen-American project for restoration and conservation of the Greater Gyz Gala took place in Ancient Merv State Historical and Cultural Park on 16th May. The Greater Gyz Gala is a striking monument that has become a signature site of the largest archaeological park in the country. Its architecture is mostly known for the massive corrugated walls, ridges tightly pinned against each other to form straight lines on each of four facades. Despite being made of fragile mud bricks, the walls remained well preserved, and are now conservated.

President of the United Arab Emirates Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, King of Jordan Abdullah II, Vice-President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on the beginning of the month of Ramadan and wished the Turkmen leader health and happiness, and the people of Turkmenistan – peace, prosperity and wellbeing.

Moscow hosted the presentation of Amul – Hazar 2018 International Rally organized in Turkmenistan by the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

During artistic forum, theatre collectives will present the screenplays dedicated to the history and outstanding figures of our country as well as the plays on the motifs of the legends reflected in the book of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Turkmenistan is the Heart of the Great Silk Road”

Last bell ceremony in all secondary comprehensive schools of the country will be held under slogan “Turkmenistan is the Heart of the Great Silk Road”. Tours around the sightseeing of the capital will be organized for the graduates. Big event will be held in Ashgabat Concert Hall on the same day. The best graduates of secondary schools will receive the gifts on behalf of the Head of the State. The celebration will be finished by the concert of art masters. The events on occasion of the end of education year will also be held in all velayat centres.

XVII International Exhibition White City of Ashgabat and events dedicated to the celebration of the Day of Ashgabat will be held on May 24 – 25.

By the Resolution of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, violin teacher of high category of String Musical Instrument Department of Turkmen National Conservatory, Head of Mukam Violin Orchestra Harold Neumark is awarded with the Order of Turkmenistan “Garaşsyz Türkmenistana bolan beýik söýgüsi üçin” for his outstanding achievements in consolidation of independence and sovereignty of Turkmenistan, development of national culture and musical art, cultural relations of our country with other states, education of growing generation as well as for special merits for the state and nation, years of selfless, hard and exemplary work.

Conferences, devoted to Constitution and State Flag Day, brought together representatives of the local community, national parliament, scientific and artistic circles, labor collectives, and youth.
