Representatives of the State Library of the State Cultural Center and large regional libraries of Turkmenistan have participated in the two-day International Forum entitled “The Library Community: Achievements and Prospects for Long-Term Partnership” held in an online format. 

Online seminar has been held with participation of representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, personnel of museums and local mass media, management of American National Natural History Museum of the Smithsonian Institute and Gallagher & Associates Company, which specialized in organization of museum work.

On December 4, the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater hosted a videoconference bridge linking the Turkmen capital with the Austrian capital, Vienna. The virtual event, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality, aimed to highlight the instrumental role of humanitarian cooperation in the foreign policy pursued by the head of state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Today, an online meeting has taken place between senior officials of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Düsen Kaseinov. A host of performing artists from Turkic-speaking countries also joined the virtual event using modern communications technology.

Today, a delegation of Turkmenistan has participated in the 35th meeting of the CIS Council for Cultural Cooperation conducted via videoconferencing.

At a ceremony held today via video link, a project of the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan has been announced the winner of the U.S. Department of State’s Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) Program competition and the Institute has been awarded the AFCP grant.

On instructions from President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the first meeting of the Turkmenistan National Commission for UNESCO (held on November 2) discussed a draft Joint Action Plan for 2021-2023 and new proposals concerning the inscription of Turkmen traditions on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
